Transferring Domain Names

  • .au Domains:
    • The transfer process for Australian domains is quick, typically completing within a few days after the request is made.
  • .com Domains:
    • While transferring .com domains is straightforward, they require a repurchase as part of the transfer process. Even if there is time left on the domain's current registration, a new 1-year purchase is required to complete the transfer to the new provider.
    • This additional cost is generally not significant and may be worthwhile to keep both the hosting and domain management under the same provider for convenience.
